Der DVF-Fotostammtisch wendet sich an alle Fotografieinteressierte, die miteinander ins Gespräch kommen, voneinander lernen und sich informieren wollen. Das Mitmachen und das Engagement für den Stammtisch soll im Mittelpunkt dieser neuen Veranstaltung stehen. Daher wird sich die Programmgestaltung im Zuge der Stammtischveranstaltungen entwickeln. Beginnen wollen wir mit Vorstellungen der Teilnehmer und kleineren Beiträgen zur Fotografie, Büchern Ausstellungen und begleitenden Themen. Der DVF-Fotostammtisch soll eine online Zoomveranstaltung sein, um Interessenten unabhängig von ihrem Wohnort ansprechen zu können.

„Pierrot Men: Menschen auf Madagaskar“ 

Wenn es den Photographen der Kultur und der Menschen auf Madagaskar gibt, dann ist es sicher Pierrot Men. In unvergleichlich sensiblen Aufnahmen beschreibt er das Alltagsleben auf dieser im Osten Afrikas liegenden Insel. Seine Bilder wirken so unglaublich intim, weil er den Menschen so nah ist und er allen auf Augenhöhe begegnet. Er wird einfach als einer der ihren akzeptiert und wird schnell einfach unsichtbar. Kinder liegen ihm besonders am Herzen und sind ihm sehr zugetan. Was besonders beeindruckt sind die harmonischen Kompositionen, die angesichts der Spontaneität der Arbeiten fast unglaublich erscheinen.

Pierrot Men hat sein kreatives Leben als Maler begonnen, für die er eigene Fotos anfertigte. Als ihm bewusst wurde, dass seine Fotos viel eindringlicher waren als seine Gemälde, stand seiner unvergleichlichen Karriere als Inselphotograph nichts mehr im Wege. Schon bald gewann er Preise - zum Beispiel seine geliebte Leica - und zeigte seine Bilder in Ausstellungen. Seine Liebe gilt der Schwarzweiß-Photographie; er macht aber auch faszinierende Farbaufnahmen. Seit 40 Jahren betreibt Pierrot Men ein Fotogeschäft auf Madagaskar, in dem er seine Bilder verkauft.
Am 15. März begrüßen wir Pierrot Men direkt aus Madagaskar bei uns über ZOOM im Stammtisch. Er wird uns über seine Arbeit berichten und Bilder zeigen. Für eine Übersetzung des französischsprachigen Photographen ist gesorgt. Gäste sind herzlich willkommen, werden aber in diesem Fall um eine kleine Spende gebeten. Herr Men verzichtet freundlicherweise auf sein Honorar, sodass wir mit den so gesammelten Beiträgen ein Kinderhilfsprojekt auf Madagascar unterstützen werden. Pierrot Men danken wir für diese sehr großzügige Geste sehr herzlich.

Die Spende ("PMen" u."PGinter") von 200 € (oder mehr) wird an das Projekt Ambararata auf Madagascar (s. Anlage Einladungs E-Mail vom 01.03. pdf) gehen.


Diese Initiative fußt auf der Bitte von H. Peter Ginter (unserem nächsten Profivortragenden vom 19.04.), der ebenfalls auf sein Honorar (100 €) verzichtet und es spenden will.

Somit ist der Fotostammtisch in der glücklichen Lage, Ambararata etwa mehr als  200 € (P.Ginter + P. Men + Gäste) überweisen zu können.

Stammtisch NEWS

oui, ce fut une soirée mémorable et passionnante le 15 mars 2021, également pour nous, à l'occasion de notre première table d'habitués en mars. Cette soirée a été entièrement consacrée à notre invité régulier de Madagascar.
"S'il y a un photographe de la culture et du peuple de Madagascar, c'est sûrement Pierrot Men". Il était en direct de Madagascar (vous ne le croiriez pas) et a fait une audience particulièrement importante auprès de nous. Nos amis photo d'Angleterre, NDPS Norwich, et ceux de France, CPCN Nièvre, ont donné à notre table des habitués une touche internationale ce soir-là. Nous avions pour ainsi dire "Full House". La présidente régionale de la DVF pour Hambourg, Stefanie Matthiesen, faisait également partie de nos invités.
Cependant, il est également apparu que de nombreux invités ne sont pas un sujet facile pour nous. Avec 39 participants cette fois, il est tout simplement extrêmement difficile, voire impossible, d'établir un lien personnel avec tous les invités. Helmut a très bien géré cela, mais il est tout simplement impossible d'éviter que l'on oublie l'un ou l'autre dans de telles situations. Ne le prenez pas personnellement, ce ne sera pas la dernière fois que quelque chose comme ça arrive, ce n'est jamais mal intentionné. Tant que nous y sommes, nous devrions peut-être donner un exemple du processus qui a été nécessaire pour mettre cette soirée sur pied de manière sûre et fiable.
L'idée de cette soirée est partie d'une découverte d'Andreas dans le magazine britannique Black+White Photography. L'article sur Pierrot Men intitulé "Une façon de voir" contenait des photos tout simplement superbes. Et comme il est toujours à la recherche de sujets pour ses contributions au tableau d'affichage, la présentation de ce même photographe, qui travaille à Madagascar et dépeint le pays et ses habitants de manière photographiquement parfaite, s'est imposée très rapidement. Il a ensuite présenté la contribution sur le 4 janvier 2021 dans notre tour. D'autres informations et détails ont suivi, y compris une référence à un film qui vaut vraiment la peine d'être vu. https://vimeo.com/385505262 Andreas avait ainsi créé la base sur laquelle nous pourrions ensuite construire ensemble. Walter s'est immédiatement enflammé et a proposé d'inviter Pierrot en tant qu'invité externe - de Madagascar, s'entend. Le premier obstacle était d'établir le contact. Même cela s'est avéré plus difficile que nous l'avions d'abord pensé. Ce n'est qu'après avoir étendu les destinataires de l'e-mail à un autre environnement de Pierrot que nous avons obtenu les premiers résultats. Une agence de voyage suisse avait intercepté un de nos e-mails et établi une connexion avec Klaus Konnerth (Madagascar). Par l'intermédiaire de Meddy, un des fils de Pierrot, nous nous sommes alors lentement approchés de notre objectif réel. Grâce à la bonne connaissance du français d'Helmut, les premiers entretiens préliminaires avec Pierrot se sont déroulés dans une atmosphère très cordiale et agréable. Néanmoins, cela ne doit pas occulter le fait que nous avons été confrontés, dès le début des premières tentatives de contact, à des problèmes techniques dont la solution n'était pas entre nos mains. Actuellement, c'est la période de la mousson à Madagascar. Les orages violents et violents qui ont suivi ont considérablement perturbé la connexion Internet. La connexion en fibre optique de Pierrot Men s'est avérée très stable non seulement pour nous, mais Klaus (il vit à 300 km de Pierrot) et Meddy étaient beaucoup moins prévisibles. Mais à la fin, il est devenu clair que Pierrot était très ouvert à nos projets. Le fait qu'il soit, à tort, assez peu connu en Allemagne joue sûrement un rôle. Notre table des habitués n'est certainement pas le début d'une carrière en Allemagne, mais c'est certainement un début.
Une fois le contact établi, le problème suivant s'est immédiatement posé, qui s'est avéré être assez puissant. Pierrot Men parle exclusivement le français, nous, par contre, on ne peut pas faire autrement - si on ne tient pas compte d'Helmut. Nous avions donc besoin d'un traducteur simultané. Mais grâce aux contacts d'Helmut, nous avons trouvé une solution très rapidement. Michele de ... a immédiatement proposé son aide. Mais dès les premiers tours préliminaires, il s'est avéré que ce n'est pas toujours la mousson qui cause des problèmes avec l'internet. Cela ne voulait tout simplement pas fonctionner et vous l'avez tous remarqué lundi : si Klaus de Madagascar n'avait pas pu parler sans être dérangé par la mousson pendant ces deux heures, nous aurions eu un problème. Au fait, Klaus Siegmund a annulé au pied levé et notre idée de proposer un chat de vie allemand/anglais pour nos amis de Norwich a été sérieusement ébranlée. Mais, et cela parle pour nos membres du Stammtisch, Ernst et Ulrich ont immédiatement sauté dans l'eau froide et ont ainsi intégré la fraction anglaise. Merci beaucoup à ce stade.
Après tous ces efforts, la soirée a été presque encore meilleure que ce que nous avions osé espérer. Pierrot a tout simplement choisi des images merveilleuses et fascinantes. Je vous l'accorde, ce n'est pas si difficile avec la qualité avec laquelle il travaille, mais quand même, pour nous c'était un pur bonheur. Ce qui a été au moins un peu surprenant, cependant, c'est de constater à quel point il était capable de discuter de manière légère, facile et amusante du contexte de chacune des 96 images. C'est assez impressionnant, car il n'y a eu pratiquement aucun retour du public. Heureusement, presque tous les participants avaient leur caméra allumée, ce qui a permis de préserver une certaine intimité. Mais le retour d'information direct était absent. Néanmoins, la joie irrépressible que lui procurent son travail, le peuple malgache et la culture malgache est très bien perçue. Ici, bien sûr, il faut souligner une fois de plus combien l'aide de Klaus Konnerth a été importante et décisive. Même les pauses pour les traductions n'ont pas pu empêcher Pierrot de partager ses pensées avec nous. Au final, tout cela s'est transformé en une histoire à succès, qui a été accueillie de la même manière par le public. Car après la conférence, les réactions positives n'ont guère cessé.
Helmut a terminé la conférence de manière très professionnelle avec la remise symbolique du chèque avec lequel nous allons transférer les 300 € - ou plus après la présentation du 19 avril - à une organisation pour enfants à Madagascar, Ambararata. Cette somme a été collectée pour les deux conférences de Pierrot Men et Peter Ginter. Les dons sont arrivés un peu hésitants au début, alors nous avons déjà commencé à nous inquiéter. Mais au final, le public de la table des habitués s'est avéré aussi intéressé et engagé que nous l'avions espéré. Nous remercions chaleureusement tous les participants.
Nous considérons comme un honneur que la petite idée d'inviter des personnes intéressées par la photographie à une réunion se soit transformée en un événement qui nous permet d'organiser de telles soirées. Nous espérons vivement que nous continuerons à nous développer de manière aussi gratifiante.

yes, it was a memorable and exciting evening on March 15, 2021, also for us, on the occasion of our first regulars table in March. This evening was entirely devoted to our regular guest from Madagascar. "If there is a photographer of the culture and the people of Madagascar, it is surely Pierrot Men". He was live from Madagascar (you wouldn't believe it) and made a particularly big audience with us. Our friends from England, NDPS Norwich, and France, CPCN Nièvre, gave our regulars table an international touch that evening. We had, so to speak, "Full House".
The regional president of the DVF for Hamburg, Stefanie Matthiesen, was also one of our guests. However, it also emerged that many guests are not an easy topic for us. With 39 participants this time around, it is simply extremely difficult, if not impossible, to establish a personal connection with all the guests. Helmut handled this very well, but it's just impossible to avoid forgetting one or the other in such situations. Don't take it personally, it won't be the last time something like this has happened, it's never malicious.
While we're at it, maybe we should give an example of the process that went into getting this party going safely and reliably. The idea for this evening came from a discovery by Andreas in the British magazine Black + White Photography. The article on Pierrot Men titled "A Way of Seeing" contained some simply stunning photos. And as he is always on the lookout for subjects for his poster board contributions, the presentation of this same photographer, who works in Madagascar and portrays the country and its people in a photographically perfect way, has caught on very quickly. He then presented the contribution on 4th Jan.2021 in our tour. Walter immediately got on fire and offered to invite Pierrot as an external guest - from Madagascar, of course. The first obstacle was to establish contact. Even this turned out to be more difficult than we first thought. It was only after having extended the recipients of the e-mail to another environment of Pierrot that we obtained the first results. A Swiss travel agency intercepted one of our emails and established a connection with Klaus Konnerth (Madagascar). Through Meddy, Pierrot's son, we then slowly approached our real goal. Thanks to Helmut's excellent knowledge of French, the first preliminary talks with Pierrot took place in a very cordial and pleasant atmosphere. Nevertheless, this should not obscure the fact that we were confronted, from the start of the first attempts at contact, with technical problems for which the solution was not in our hands. Currently, it is the monsoon period in Madagascar. The violent and violent thunderstorms that followed significantly disrupted the Internet connection. Pierrot Men's fiber optic connection proved to be very stable not only for us, but Klaus (he lives 300 km from Pierrot) and Meddy were much less predictable. But in the end, it became clear that Pierrot was very open to our projects. The fact that he is, wrongly, relatively unknown in Germany certainly plays a role. Our regulars table is certainly not the start of a career in Germany, but it is certainly a start. After contact was made, the following problem immediately arose, which turned out to be quite powerful. Pierrot Men speaks exclusively French, we, on the other hand, cannot do otherwise - if we do not take Helmut into account. So we needed a simultaneous translator. But thanks to Helmut's contacts, we found a solution very quickly. Michele de ... immediately offered to help. But from the first preliminary rounds, it turned out that it's not always the monsoon that causes problems with the internet. It just didn't want to work and you all noticed it on Monday: If Klaus from Madagascar hadn't been able to speak without being disturbed by the monsoon for those two hours, we would have had a problem. By the way, Klaus Siegmund canceled on short notice and our idea of offering a German / English life cat for our friends in Norwich was seriously shaken. But, and this speaks for our members of Stammtisch, Ernst and Ulrich immediately jumped into cold water and thus joined the English fraction. Thank you very much at this point. After all these efforts, the evening was almost better than we had dared to hope. Pierrot simply selected wonderful, fascinating pictures. Admittedly, it's not that difficult with the quality with which he works, but still, for us it was a pure pleasure. But what was at least a bit surprising was the realization of how carefree, relaxed and entertaining he was able to chat about the backgrounds of all 96 pictures. That's impressive, because there was almost no feedback from the audience. Fortunately, almost all of the participants had their cameras switched on, so that at least a certain intimacy arose. But there was no direct feedback. Nevertheless, the overwhelming joy in his work, in the people of Madagascar and the Malagasy culture came across very well. Of course, it should be emphasized once again how important and decisive the help of Klaus Konnerth was. Even the breaks for the translations could not prevent Pierrot from sharing his thoughts with us. Ultimately, it all turned into a success story that was well received by the audience. Because after the lecture, the positive feedback hardly came to an end.
Helmut then ended the lecture in a very professional manner with the symbolic presentation of the check with which we will transfer the € 300 plus additional donations from Mr. Ginter's lecture (April 19th) to a children's organization in Madagascar. This sum has so far been collected for the two lectures by Pierrot Men and Peter Ginter. The donations came in a little hesitantly at first, so that we were already beginning to worry. But in the end, the regulars' table audience presented themselves as as interested and committed as we had hoped. We thank all participants very much. We consider it an honor that the small idea of inviting people interested in photography to a meeting has turned into an event that allows us to organize such evenings. We very much hope that we will continue to develop positively.
